Replacing the furnace? Think one step beyond the old unit.

Decide whether you want heating replacement only or a wider heating-and-cooling upgrade. That choice helps make the equipment comparison more useful.

  • Your current setup

Review the fuel, equipment and distribution.

  • Your future comfort

Consider cooling while the next system is being planned.

  • Your complete quote

Confirm available furnace options and work around them.

What has changed since the current furnace was installed?

Equipment age is useful background, but does not diagnose a fault or establish that replacement is required. AirCrest focuses on installation and upgrade options.

  • The equipment

Share the approximate age, fuel and service history if known.

  • The home

Mention renovations, insulation changes and rooms that feel different.

  • Your priorities

Explain whether replacement heating, added cooling or a different system is the goal.

Fit the replacement to the equipment around it

Ducts, controls, fuel supply and venting can shape a replacement. Confirm the furnace types available for your home, then identify what can remain and what work belongs in the quote.

Furnace replacement or a heat-pump upgrade?

Compare the heating and cooling you want the whole project to provide. A heating-only quote and a heating-and-cooling quote describe different capabilities.

Bring the rooms into the heating conversation

If a bedroom at the end of the hall is cold, say so. Replacing the furnace alone may leave a distribution issue unchanged. Discuss the room, its airflow and the comfort you want.

Why the room plan matters

  • Doors closed

A comfortable living room does not tell you how a closed bedroom will be heated or cooled. Include those bedrooms in the plan.

  • Doors open

An open door changes air movement. Distance, layout and capacity still determine whether those rooms receive enough heating or cooling.

A clear replacement quote makes the decision easier

Ask about old-equipment removal, preparation inside the home and any related work another contractor must arrange. The written scope should make those responsibilities clear.

  • The system and rooms

Exact configuration, capacity and the rooms or zones the proposal is intended to serve.

  • The work around it

Connections, controls, electrical or duct work, removal and finishes where included. List excluded work separately.

  • The coverage afterwards

Written equipment warranty and installation labour terms, including exclusions and any registration requirements.

  • The purchase and payment

Total purchase price and payment arrangements. Read any financing offer as a separate agreement.
